The program is aimed at acquiring new and improving previously acquired competencies in use of the main EU standards related to freedom of expression, media freedom and media literacy, as well as official databases for searching and verifying necessary information.

The program will help you to:

• Know and understand the basics of EU standards on freedom of expression and information, media freedom and media pluralism, their evolution, legal, political and cultural origins;
• Identify relevant information resources, critically analyze data, use legal instruments and open data to promote civic engagement (including in fight against corruption), support decision-making in the European integration context;
• Know principles and legal provisions on data protection;
• Apply tools to ensure their own information security and promote values related to freedom of expression and information in society, understand key points of media ethics, journalistic and academic integrity.
