Dear colleagues!
We invite you to participate in the scientific and practical conference Manipulation of Public Consciousness and Information and Social Security in Contemporary Ukrainian Society (Certificate issued by the State Scientific Institution "Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information" No. 798 of 11 November 2025) which is held online on the basis of the Department of Germanic Philology of Sumy State University on April 15, 2026.
The main areas in which the conference is planned to work:
- Innovative technologies of manipulative influence on public
- Cognitive and pragmatic strategies of manipulative
- Ethical, social, and psychological dimensions of linguistic
- Language education and critical thinking as means of counteracting
- Manipulation in intercultural communication and
- Mass media in the digital age: tools of manipulation and methods of
- Social networks as platforms for manipulation in the modernized
- Legal protection of Ukrainian society from "harmful" information and propaganda in the context of contemporary realities.
Conference languages: Ukrainian, English, German.
The plenary and sectional sessions will be held on the Zoom platform (the link will be sent to the email address provided in the registration form on the eve of the conference).
The conference materials will be published in an electronic proceedings volume (PDF format) after the conference and posted on the website of the Department of Germanic Philology of the Faculty of FPSC of Sumy State University in the the section "Research Work", as well as emailed to all participants.
Each participant will receive an electronic certificate of participation in the conference.

Highly desirable to write your full name both in the email name and in the file name.

PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE IS FREE OF CHARGE
REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACTS
- The number of authors must not exceed
- The length of the paper should be 2‐4 pages of A4
- The file format must be .doc or .docx.
- Page orientation:
- Font: Times New Roman, size 14; line spacing – 5; paragraph indent – 1.25 cm; margins – 2 cm on all sides.
- Quotation marks in the text: « ».
- Tables: the title should be placed above the table; font size – 14; line spacing – 1.5; left alignment.
- Figures must be grouped into a single graphic object; the caption should be placed below the figure; font size – 14; line spacing – 1.5; center alignment.
- The sequence of material presentation should be as follows: the author’s (authors’) surname and initials; academic degree and/or academic title (if available), position; place of work or study (official full name of the institution); city. The title of the abstract is given after a line break. See Sample 1.
- Abstracts authored by students must be submitted under the academic supervision of a faculty After the list of references, the supervisor’s full name, academic degree, academic title, and place of work should be indicated. See Sample 2.
- The list of references should be arranged in alphabetical order and formatted according to APA Style 7 requirements. In-text references should be provided in parentheses, e.g. (Malaniuk, 2023).
The conference materials will be published in the authors’ original version. The authors bear full responsibility for the academic content and quality of the submitted materials. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts submitted in violation of these requirements or after the established deadline.
