SumDU took the first place among Ukrainian institutions in the UI GreenMetric global sustainable development ranking, which this year included universities from 110 countries. In the global rankings, SumDU made it into the top 400 universities, improving its position by 20 spots.

Starting in 2026, the ranking was renamed the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings. The theme for 2026 is “Developing Sustainable Campuses Through Governance, Digitalization, and Integrated Performance Indicators”.

The number of Ukrainian universities represented in the ranking increased by over 15%. Despite intensifying competition, SumDU demonstrated positive progress across key evaluation areas. In particular, in the Governance and Digitalization category – introduced for the first time this year – the university took the first place among Ukrainian institutions.
