From the first days of Russian armed aggression, leading international publishers and companies supported the Ukrainian scientific community and provided free access to their information resources.

Access to the Clarivate and Elsevier bases, as well as to full-text electronic resources on the Research4Life portal, is currently in progress.

SumDU members have access to a lot of Elsevier bases and research tools:

  • Scopus – a multidisciplinary bibliographic and abstract base, a tool for tracking the citation of articles published in scientific journals.
  • SciVal – a tool for monitoring and analyzing international scientific research (via visualization methods, modern metrics, benchmarking, research partner search, modern scientific trends, management solutions).
  • ScienceDirect – a full-text base of peer-reviewed scientific articles from Elsevier journals and book chapters.
  • Funding Institutional – a tool that helps researchers find research funding opportunities from public and private funding organizations.
  • Elsevier Health – a tool for provide access to the ClinicalKey, Complete Anatomy, and Osmosis resources.
  • Researcher Academy – an e-learning platform designed to support researchers at every step of their research activities.
  • Mendeley – a bibliographic manager that allows you to store materials, make bibliographic references, and create lists of sources in different citation styles.

In 2024, Clarivate continued to provide free access to the Web of Science base. In addition, Sumy State University researchers have an opportunity to join educational webinars held in Ukrainian on a regular basis. Up-to-date information about the resources and planned webinars can be found on the Ukrainian support page on the Clarivate portal, as well as in the #StandWithUkraine section.

Free access to data resources on the Research4Life portal goes on till the end of 2024 (the platform content comprises over 200 thousand items).

Access to international resources and bases is an important component of research work, as evidenced by the statistics of use. For example, about 4 thousand search queries in Scopus and about 1.5 thousand in Web of Science are made by Sumy State University researchers every month. In addition, access to the most important sources of information contributes to the integration of the university research infrastructure into the global scientific space.
