Leading scientists with a high h-index and experience of over 300,000 euro projects were invited to participate in the Romanian and EU program. The event aims to provide financial support for the implementation of innovative projects. Last year, 150 million euros were allocated for this.

According to the competition terms, the leading scientist must gather executors from universities, institutes and individual enterprises in Romania and form a team to prepare the project. Out of over 400 projects were submitted to the competition this year, 252 participated in the second. 87 projects of the final stage will receive financing of about 1.5 million euros each.

Among the winners, there is a project led by Oleksandr POGREBNIAK (professor, Sumy State University).

The solemn signing of contracts took place in the Romanian Government Building. Here, Nicolae CUKE (Romanian Prime Minister) participated. The documents were signed by Sebastian Burduža (Romanian Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization) and Roxana Mioara PITICHESCU (director of the National Research Institute for Nonferrous and Rare Metals).
