On March 22nd Sumy State University hosted the II International scientific and practical conference “Design functions in the modern world: gauge of 2019”. Conference was participated by the scientists from Ukraine, China, Poland, Germany and Belarus. The workflow was organized in such directions: scientific and theoretic basics of design; widening of design functions at the turn of Millennium; the art of design in the context of market relations; intertextual gauges of modern design and others. SSU was presented at the conference by the Director of Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies “UAB” Iryna Dyakonova and Associate Professor of the Foreign Languages Department of the Institute Rymma Mylenkova. Foreign Languages Department teachers Larysa Andreiko, Hanna Kozlovska and Larysa Otroshchenko also participated in the conference.
Next to the scientific and theoretic achievements were presented practical insights of Sumy architects and designers, like the project of reconstruction of Teatralna Square in Sumy. The conference relevance is that nowadays design is used not only in household items creation, but also is interdisciplinary method of environment construction, patterning of the scientific knowledge, organization of the social life.
