On March 2nd, Volodymyr Semynozhenko, the Head of the North-East Scientific Center of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine presented the Rector of SumDU Anatoliy Vasylyev with NASU Memorable Award.
The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine made a decision about an award in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Academy.
Presenting the award, Volodymyr Semynozhenko noted the significant achievements of Sumy State University in the research field and training of scientific staff.
"I always cite SumDU as an example of the fact that HEI doesn’t have to be in the capital in order to become successful in Ukrainian and the world scientific and educational space," - academician emphasized.
Rector of Sumy State University Anatoliy Vasylyev highlighted that the priority of the university's activity is scientific component in combination with international activity. The university is one of six Ukrainian universities represented in the leading world rankings. In particular, Sumy State University is included in the THE World University Rankings by Times Higher Education and in the Global Research University Profiles (GRUP) by ShanghaiRanking. SumDU also ranked 101-150 among the fastest-rising young stars of the higher education world by the QS. Anatoliy Vasylyev noted that the honorary award is the distinction of the whole team of scientists, scientific and pedagogical staff, employees and students.
