Creative victories of SumDU translators

Translator students of the Department of Germanic Philology of SumDU won in the IV International student translation contest “Translation as a tool for updating ethno-lingual images of the world”, results of which were summed up online on March 26^th on the base of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University.

Overall, there were 109 participants who submitted their works to the contest. Sumy State University students were actively engaged in this event, that is why we have 4 award-winning places.

Yuliia Lazutkina won the I place in the first category “The best translation of poetry from English into Ukrainian (Russian for foreign students)” with her interpretation of Edgar Guest’s poem “See it through”.

SumDU has 3 award-winning places in the third category “The best translation of an English anthem into Ukrainian (Russian for foreign students)”. Alina Lutskovska got the 2^nd place for the translation of John Legend’s song “All of me”, and Liliia Danylenko and Alla Velykodna shared the 3^rd place.
