The European Commission announced the results of the 2020 competition of the direction “Capacity building of higher education” of the EU Erasmus+ programme. Overall, there were 10 projects selected with Ukrainian representatives, and one of them is the project with the participation of Sumy State University.

The projects to be implemented in Ukraine are aimed at modernization of study programmes in Social Sciences and Engineering, Health and Environment Protection; modernization of HEIs’ governance; strengthening of the connection between the higher education system, and economic and social spheres.

Also, SumDU supported the project “Open Practices, Transparency and Integrity for Modern Academia (OPTIMA)” coordinated by the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. The project consortium also included Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University, Lutsk National Technical University, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, and the National Antarctic Scientific Center.

OPTIMA’s main goal is bringing Open Science ideas and practices to Ukrainian academia in order to boost academic integrity and transparency, which will positively influence the quality of National academic services and content.
