The European Commission has announced the results of the Call 2020 of the projects in such key actions: “Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education”, “Jean Monnet” and “Strategic Partnerships” of the EU ERASMUS+ Programme. According to the results of the Call, Sumy State University is one of the leaders in Ukraine by a number of supported projects that confirms the University’s active integration into the international educational space.

Thus, 7 out of 38 supported projects of Jean Monnet category recommended for funding in Ukraine were submitted by Sumy State University. The projects’ topics include the best EU practices on the issues of economic policy and civil society, transfer to a sustainable society in the industry 4.0 and 5.0 on the basis of the EU experience, protection of the rights of financial services consumers according to the European standards, implementation of integrated communications regarding the European integration and electronic democracy, using the European experience in the sphere of biomedicine, implementation of the best EU practices in the sphere of economics without carbon, using the European activity of small and medium enterprises, etc.

The supported project «Open Practices, Transparency and Integrity for Modern Academia (OPTIMA)» in the category “Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education” was one out 10 projects from Ukraine recommended for funding with the participation of SumDU; the project goal is to engage ideas and practices of open science into the national academic environment to increase the level of academic integrity and transparency.  

For today, there are 2 supported projects with the participation of SumDU in the category “Strategic Partnerships” out of 5 from Ukraine which received the decision from the European Commission. The projects from SumDU are aimed at building the strategic partnership among Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey, Romania in the development of approaches to informal education in the gaming industry and regulation of youth’s behavior in the cyberspace, exchange of the best practices in forming of educational base regarding skills of digital literacy in the youth sector at the European level.

The EU Erasmus+ Programme is a guide and substantial support to the University on the way to international integration, building of the model of the University of the European level in style, technology, quality of scientific and educational services, traditions of the international and cross-cultural cooperation. Such a number of supported projects this year is a success and a challenge at the same time. But SumDU accepts this challenge with confidence, for it has the corresponding experience and capacity!
