On November 14th, Sumy State University held the first English class of the school of European languages in this academic year.

The school of European languages has been operating on the base of the Department of German Philology of SumDU for the fifth year in a row and is gradually gaining more and more popularity among students and senior pupils - future entrants of our university. In general, anyone can become a school student. There is also an enrolment for a German language course going on.

The project managers are Olena Nazarenko, a lecturer at the Department of German Philology, and Antonina Chepeliuk, a senior lecturer. The students of the major "Philology" teach at the school within theшк pedagogical practice.

The school managers congratulated the students on the opening of this year's classes. Olena Nazarenko spoke about the training specifics, wished the audience inspiration and success. Antonina Chepeliuk introduced the teachers of the school, shared information about the students’ achievements, informed them about their internship opportunities abroad.

Associate Professor Olga Zhulavska, the Director of the “Linguostar” Translation and Methodological Center, joined the congratulations on the opening. She wished the students interesting classes and pleasure from the learning process and talked about additional opportunities to improve the level of language proficiency and preparation for the certified international exams.

During the lesson, the students of the school were happy to talk about themselves, share experiences from their own trips abroad, and discuss stereotypes associated with people from different countries. Such interesting and informal conversations make the skills of communicating in foreign languages develop, and the support of already experienced teachers helps not only to overcome the language barrier but also to learn the practical aspects of language proficiency.
