SumDU maintains its position among the leading higher education institutions worldwide. Today, it takes the first place among Ukrainian institutions in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026.

This result is of particular importance in conditions of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Despite all wartime challenges, SumDU maintains high performance in key indicators and continues to confirm its status as the country’s leading institution. Moreover, the number of domestic universities included in the Times Higher Education ranking has increased by almost a third this year.

According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 methodology, the activities of each institution are assessed according to 18 performance indicators grouped into five general indicators.

In total, 2,191 higher education institutions from 115 countries worldwide participated in THE World University Rankings 2026.
