Sumy State University has confirmed its leading position, taking 3rd place among Ukrainian universities, according to the results of this year's global environmental GreenMetric World University Rankings.
In 2013, SumDU was the first among Ukrainian universities to be represented in this "green ranking". Since then, it has consistently been among the TOP-3 national HEIs in the GreenMetric World University Rankings, which is confirmed by this year's results.
The ranking was launched in 2010 by the University of Indonesia. Its purpose is to measure the universities' efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
GreenMetric World University Rankings evaluates the performance of universities on various indicators: energy and climate change, infrastructure, water, waste management, environmental education, transport, etc.
