On September 14, the Erasmus+ Day was held at the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies of Sumy State University. The event was held in a mixed format and brought together the learners, researchers, and teachers interested in academic mobility, in particular, participation in the EU Erasmus+ programme.

During the event, information on the international educational and scientific experience, opportunities for international academic mobility offered by SumDU, as well as the application procedure within the international academic mobility programmes were provided.

The Dean of the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies Oleksandr HUSAK said that the faculty aims to ensure that each student participates in academic mobility programmes and studies at least one semester in a foreign higher education institution. He stressed that an important prerequisite for participation in academic mobility programmes is English proficiency, so in addition to the opportunities provided by the university, there should be the desire of the student.

Kostyantyn KYRYCHENKO, Head of the International Affairs Department of SumDU, acquainted the participants with the peculiarities of the implementation of academic mobility programmes. He said that the university currently offers about 60 academic mobility programmes in more than 33 countries worldwide. The team of the International Affairs Department is ready to provide consultations and support to all interested students.

“To become a high-quality professional, you need to make the most of your studies for your own development. We have not yet had a single student who would aspire to go to study or internship and could not do that”, - said Kostyantyn KYRYCHENKO.

The event was greeted by the Head of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine Svitlana SHYTIKOVA. She thanked the team of Sumy State University for active participation in the EU Erasmus+ programme.

The guests of the event Olha VAKHRINA (Poznan University of Technology, Poland) and Slawomir LUSZCZYNSKI (Kielce University of Technology, Poland) told the participants about the current opportunities for academic mobility. The students and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies shared their experience of participation in academic mobility programmes.

The main purpose of the Erasmus+ Day is to show the possibilities of the academic mobility provided by the university, to help the students to believe that participation in such programmes is not difficult, the main thing is to have the desire, self-belief, and eagerness for development.
