Social Oscar Award ceremony was held at SumDU

On December 21, Sumy State University hosted the presentation of the award "Social Oscar of SumDU-2021", the traditional award for representatives of socially useful activities in the region.

The event initiator is the Department of Psychology, Political Science and Socio-Cultural Technologies of SumDU. This is the fifth time the competition has taken place. Its nominees are public organizations, business institutions, local governments, media representatives.

In her welcoming speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications Olena SUSHKOVA stressed the importance of the event, which brought together representatives of the university, government, business, journalists and public figures. She wished everyone significant projects, significant results and good health.

Mykhailo DUBROVSKY, Director of the Department of Social Protection of Population of Sumy Regional State Administration, thanked the organizers for important work and holding of the event. "The presentation of the "Social Oscar" shows the level of social activity, to which one should aspire, and that should be followed," said Mykhailo DUBROVSKY.

The winners of the 2021 competition received symbolic palms-awards and diplomas in the nominations: "Emerging Initiatives", "Public Sector Man", "Local Business Organization", "Local Government Institution", "Local Public Organization", as well as nominees last year, 2020, because due to the pandemic, the event was held online.

The head of the labour union of SumDU, Valentina BOROVYK noted that the social field was the important part of the university, and not without reason, SumDU received five stars in QS ranking (for social orientation including). "Today, not indifferent people have gathered here: representatives of the university, students, honored guests, who are always ready to do good," the head of the labour union said.

The bright concert program from the cultural and art centre of SumDU was the gift for the audience.
