Sofiia PINCHUK (a student of Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies at SumDU) gave an interview for the EU NEIGHBOURS east project. Here, she told us about the Erasmus+ study, her international experience and Ukrainian wartime life.

Sofia completed the 113 Applied Mathematics budget course. She regarded SumDU as one of the best Ukrainian universities that are active in the Erasmus+ branch.

On the SumDU Instagram page on academic mobility, Sofia found an Erasmus+ study post. There was a proposal to spend one term at Silesian University of Technology (Gliwice, Poland). Sofiia completed the contest successfully.

The girl found out about the military invasion when she was waiting for a plane to Ukraine. She had to return. The academic mobility office let her stay in the university dormitory. Sofiia was offered to keep studying for another Erasmus+ term. Ukrainian full-time students might not pay for education and residence during the military situation.

The girl is grateful to develop in safety. She had been studying for the whole summer. Firstly, Sofiia took her exams at Polish and Ukrainian universities. Secondly, she finished her diploma research. Thirdly, she prepared to SumDU Master’s studies (122 Computers Sciences. Informatics).
