A new SumDU project is launched with the Japan International Cooperation Agency and ESD Consortium Aichi. The start was announced on 16 October 2022 during the formal meeting.

Participants were greeted by members of the above-mentioned organizations.

The project is aimed to improve engineering education. The implementation is long and joint. It comprises three stages.

Firstly, there will be an intensive online course. It will concern human resource development, graduate employment increase, research enhancement and its industrial use, labor safety. Besides, Japanese culture will be introduced for participants.

During the initial event, professor Hidetoshi MIYAKAWA represented his lecture “Industrial Technology Education in Japan”. He focused on the main aspects of training engineers to reach the Sustainable Development Goals.

According to professor Vitalii IVANOV (SumDU project coordinator), the first stage will result in a produced plan of engineer training improvement.

The project includes 10 participants. They come from Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies, Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications, Industrial Engineering Research Center, Regional Security Research Center, SumDU Department of Pre-University Education, Sumy Power Engineering Cluster, Sumy Specialized School 9.
