As a part-time professor of the SumDU Department of Nanoelectronics and Surface Modification, Yurii Hohotsi was awarded a Clarivate-2022 title “The Highly-Cited Researcher” in two categories: chemistry and material science.

The Clarivate list comprises about 7000 most productive scientists. Their significant contribution to research progress is confirmed by the Web of Science citation indexing. Statistically, 1 of 1000 researchers in the world acquires such honors. This year, only 219 experts have been ranked in two categories simultaneously.

As of November 2022, the Web of Science h-index of Yurii Hohotsi is 183. It keeps rising. The Google Scholar h-index exceeds 200. In other words, he is cited above 200,000 times.

Professor Yurii Hohotsi (Ph.D., D.Sc., Dr.h.c., Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Distinguished University Professor Director, A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute) participates actively in SumDU projects. In particular, together with the SumDU Biomedical Research Facility, he develops MXenes. As new and very promising nanomaterials, they were discovered by professor Hohotsi and his colleagues in 2011. The latest tight cooperation evidence is a successful selection and funding within the Marie Curie project of the Horizon Europe program.

Prof. Hohotsi supports Ukraine on the international level. He collects money for Ukrainian scientists working with funds, associations and state organizations.

SumDU is proud of having such a lecturer as professor Yurii Hohotsi.
