SumDU students obtained four medals during the Open International Sambo Tournament

On 24-26 February, The Open International Sambo Tournament for adults and youth (Cyprus 2023) took place in the city of Larnaca.

Yuliia ZASULSKA (Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies) won the contest twice. For weight under 50 kg, she defeated youth competitors. Later, a gold among women was acquired.

“It was a bit difficult: rivals were heavier than me by 5 kilograms. I was proud of representing Ukraine here. In future, I want to win the world championship,” – told Yuliia.

Another winner was Oleksii HALAKA (Medical Institute). He was the best for the category of over 98 kg. Therefore, he got a gold among youth (18-20 years) and a silver among adults.

There were participants of 14 countries in Cyprus. Unofficially, the national Ukrainian team took the general victory with 35 adult and 14 youth medals.
