SumDU students get silver and bronze medals for the Grand Slam Tournament

Two SumDU athletes won Grand Slam (a famous judo competition). It took place on 2 April 2023 in Antalya, Turkey.

Dilshot KHALMATOV is a silver prize-winner. For the under-60-kg category, he started from the second round. He proceeded with defeated rivals from France, Brazil, Belgium and Kazakhstan. However, the final stage was lost.

For Dilshot, it is the second Grand Slam silver!

Vladyslav KAZIMIROV acquired a bronze under 73 kg. He overcame competitors from Poland, Kosovo, Kazakhstan. Unfortunately, he lost the quarterfinal for an Azerbaijani athlete. On the bronze way, Vladyslav defeated Spanish and German rivals. For this weight category, there were 60 participants.

Totally, the Grand Slam Tournament comprised 600 athletes from 83 countries.
