SumDU and Swiss institutions (Collegium Helveticum; Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute; University of Zurich) are going to check mental health of Ukrainians.

As a preparation stage, there was the Zurich international seminar “Mental Health Epidemiological Watch”.

The event idea was proposed by Viktoriia YASENOK, an associate professor of SumDU Medical Institute who works as a researcher at University of Zurich.

Andrii LOBODA (head of SumDU Medical Institute), Andriana KOSTENKO (chief of the Social Research Center) and Viktoriia PETRASHENKO (associate professor, SumDU Department of Pediatrics) joined the meeting. The purpose was to create tools of monitoring mental health for Ukrainians who live in Ukraine and abroad. The research methodology and future plans were defined.

The monitoring will assess spread of post-traumatic disorders, depression and anxiety. Besides, influence of social and economic war consequences on mental health will be analyzed.
