On 21-27 April 2023, there was a meeting of members from seven Ukrainian universities, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and the Alliance “Unite!”. It was held by Wrocław University of Science and Technology within the project “Green Standards for Ukrainian Universities”.

Sumy State University was represented by Kostiantyn KYRYCHENKO (International Affairs Department) and Denys SMOLENNIKOV (Benchmarking and Statistics Department).

During the week, various events took place: seminars and trainings. The project “Green Standards for Ukrainian Universities” is funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchanges. Started in January 2023, it supports the Ukrainian academic community by involving Ukrainian partners into regular events of the Alliance “Unite!”. Here, Wrocław University leads.

The most important project task is development of green standards for Ukrainian universities in education and research. Finally, we can achieve sustainable, energy-efficient and ecologically clean functioning of university campuses. Their green models are designed. Values and norms for further recovery and EU integration are introduced and spread.

The project observes the best European practices of partners from Austria, Germany, Italy and Poland. Green technologies are improved. Advanced training and academic mobility are reproduced for students and teachers.

We acknowledge our Polish friends for many years of support, work performance, promising research plans and academic mobility opportunities!
