Sumy State University hosts a coordinating forum on economic recovery and development in the Sumy Region

The event took place on 28 July 2023. It attracted international donors, partners, UN coordinators, state and local officials, researchers, public figures and businessmen to recovery and development in the Sumy Region.

Organized by the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the forum was visited by representatives of five embassies. Also, there were missions from the USA, the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Slovenia and South Korea.

The forum aim was creation of a regional coordinating recovery mechanism. It should promote the strategy of economic recovery and development, determine cooperation prospects, arrange humanitarian support and plan investments.

Members of communities, enterprises and universities demonstrated their projects on recovery and development in the Sumy Region.

“Sumy State University is interested in region recovery and development. Apart from specialists’ preparation, SumDU realizes projects on energy saving, environment protection, information technologies. It also conducts social studies and offers staff training programs for local communities,” – noted Vasyl KARPUSHA in his forum speech.
