Sumy State University passed the competitive selection process and joined the second phase of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Development of Medical Education”.

It is implemented by the Swiss Institute of Tropical and Public Health (Swiss TPH) in cooperation with the Ukrainian Healthcare Ministry and financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

“In the second phase, we will attract to the project site those institutions that, on the one hand, already have their own unique achievements, but are also open to changes and cooperation,” – said Tetyana CHERNYSH (head of the Implementation Office of the Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Development of Medical Education”).

“The selection of partner institutions for the second project phase was a big challenge. It is noticeable that each of the applicants tried not to make an impression on the commission, but spoke frankly about the challenges and vision of overcoming them. We appreciate transparency and sincerity. We believe that shared values help us work effectively and improve. That’s how we preferred applications. I congratulate new institutions in the large team of the Ukrainian-Swiss project. It will not be easy, but it will be interesting, exciting and motivating!” – commented Olena IHNASHCHUK (medical education coordinator of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Development of Medical Education”) on the selection results.

The project covers all levels of medical education: undergraduate, postgraduate (internship), continuous professional development. That provides expert, normative and educational support to improve the quality of education for primary care workers.

The project cooperation provides new opportunities for training and professional development of teachers and students at the Medical Institute. They can participate in activities that take into account the best world practices and exchange of experience in education and science.
