The innovative semi-industrial machine, created by SumDU on the order of a Czech company, can improve the properties of polymers by applying nanotubes to the raw granule surface.
The development has no analogues worldwide. Polymer products are widely used in various fields: industry, everyday life, construction, etc.
Previously, applied research was carried out. One studied modification possibility as well as mechanical and electrical properties of polymers made from modified raw materials. The results showed that polymers modified by nanomaterials become stronger and more resistant to influence of external factors. Their operational properties are significantly improved (resistance to ultraviolet radiation, impact toughness, antistatic features).
The invented technology is protected by an international patent.
Work on the development and manufacture of a semi-industrial machine was conducted at the Department of Applied and Construction Materials. A group of developers under the leadership of Stanislav MARCHENKO worked for almost 5 years on its creation.
The management scheme for the scientific novelty was developed by specialists at the Department of Computerized Management Systems.
Despite all wartime difficulties, the university fulfilled its international obligations. SumDU has already several successfully implemented projects with the Czech company that ordered the unique device.
This machine creation is an example of using SumDU potential for successful cooperation of Ukraine with EU enterprises.
