On 21 November 2024, the meeting of the Council for Higher Education Quality Assurance at Sumy State University began with an awarding ceremony.

Anatolii VASYLIEV (council chairman) presented the Acknowledgement of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance to Serhii VANIEIEV. He was recognized as a member of the sectoral expert council in electrical engineering for his significant contribution to higher education quality development in Ukraine.

During the event, three issues were considered. Inna SHKOLNYK (first vice-rector) presented the reports “On curriculum accreditation results in 2023-2024” and “On results of support inspection for curriculum implementation in 2024-2025”.

According to accreditation results, the most exemplary practices with the A grade were identified by the criterion “Educational environment and material resources” (40%). Many experts noted the automated university system and personal electronic cabinet. Also, exemplary practices were traced by the criteria “Control measures, assessment of students and academic integrity”, “Access to curricula and recognition of learning outcomes”, “Transparency and publicity”.

As to the internal rating indicator, last year the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications became the leader in terms of the number of curricula with exemplary practices.

The monitoring of organizational and methodological support for curricula implementation covered assessment of the following aspects: availability of approved curricula and supporting documents, availability of published syllabi, completeness of educational and methodological complexes, quality and completeness of information on practical training and certification of students on websites of departments and faculties. The survey results on the wishes of students were also summarized.

Following the discussion of both issues, the Council made appropriate decisions.

Olha LIUTA (head of the Center for Higher Education Quality Assurance) informed the meeting participants about changes to the Regulations on Organization of Students’ Assessment of Educational Activities.
