From 26 to 29 November 2024, the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland) hosted the final in-person meeting of the project “Education for Green Transformation of Ukrainian Universities”. It was attended by SumDU representatives: Ivan KOZII (vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work) and Denys SMOLENNIKOV (head of the Benchmarking and Statistics Department).
The participants developed a system of criteria for further assessment of progress of higher education institutions in implementing green standards. This tool will be piloted in December 2024.
The event also included a number of trainings and seminars on creation and implementation of micro-qualification programs, including those on sustainable development. SumDU members presented their own development: a two-credit course on Sustainable Development Goals. Besides, as part of the project of interdisciplinary scientific seminars at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, participants had an opportunity to attend a public lecture by Professor Steve Evans of the University of Cambridge “Sustainable Development: What Should We Do Next?”
The project “Education for Green Transformation of Ukrainian Universities” is being implemented by SumDU in partnership with six other Ukrainian higher education institutions. The consortium also includes the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. The consortium formation and implementation of project objectives were financially supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
