SumDU is expanding partnerships with communities and institutions in different regions of Ukraine. On 4 December 2024, a cooperation memorandum was signed between SumDU and Chortkiv City Council.

According to the document, which was signed by Vasyl KARPUSHA (SumDU rector) and Volodymyr SHMATKO (Chortkiv mayor), the parties are committed to developing quality education and practical training for future professionals. The partnership covers organization of training and practical programs, educational events, creation of modern educational materials. Besides, there will be joint implementation of scientific and social projects to promote professional development of youth.

SumDU also signed a cooperation memorandum with Ternopil Regional Employment Center, represented by Mykola HORODETSKYI.

According to the project, it is planned to create a territorial center for remote communications.

“The Chortkiv community, and the south of Ternopil region in general, desperately needs an educational institution that will train experts in technical specialties. I hope that within the signed agreement, we will be able to achieve our goals quickly,” – said Volodymyr SHMATKO (head of the community).

The range of joint activities also includes career guidance activities among the community residents, implementation of professional development programs (online or mixed), etc.

The SumDU rector noted interaction importance between academic institutions and communities. Such cooperation allows combining knowledge and experience of scientists and educators with practical needs of local government.

“Together, we will be able to create new opportunities for young people, provide quality education and practical training for specialists. I am confident our cooperation will become an example of effective interaction between education, science and local self-government. We can build a successful future for our country,” – underlined Vasyl KARPUSHA.
