On 14 January 2025, Yurii VOLK (dean of the ELIT Faculty) and Andrii PIVEN (chief of the Center for Computer Technologies) joined the strategic session of the Hardware Community Meetup in Kyiv.
The event brought together technology industry participants to discuss current challenges in the field of human capital. Particular attention was paid to war consequences, insufficient practical training of graduates, integration of veterans into professional sphere and imperfect legislation.
During discussion, participants proposed a number of strategic solutions:
- Implementation of a dual educational model;
- Creation of training centers at companies;
- Development of innovative infrastructure such as startup schools and laboratories;
- Development of adaptation programs to support veterans.
Special emphasis was placed on supporting veterans through career guidance programs, inclusion and psychological support. New financial mechanisms aimed at motivating young professionals and modernizing technical infrastructure were also discussed.
The Hardware Community Meetup confirmed importance of cooperation between business and education to overcome staffing challenges, attract young talent, and support Ukrainian innovative development.
SumDU is grateful to organizers for an opportunity to join the discussion and is ready to support such initiatives.
