On July 1st, the winners of the II Summer School of Young Chemist were awarded, which was held remotely for two days (June 24th-25th) at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry of Sumy State University.

The online format did not reduce the interest of young masters and ardent fans of chemistry, but proved to be interesting and useful for the participants. During classes organized in the form of web-conferences, teachers used videos of chemical experiments conducted at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry. Also, with the help of the staff of the Center of E-learning Technologies of SumDU, videos of experiments were shot and edited.

The winners of the two-day marathon of chemical classes were determined by testing.

The first place was taken by Oleksandr Tkachenko, a 9th grade student, school 26, Sumy.

Iryna Snahoshchenko, a student of the 9th grade, school № 10, Sumy, took the second place.

The third place was won by Anna Olkhovyk, a student of the 10th grade, school № 2, Shostka.

The winners received the desired prizes -  LAB ZZ microscopes. This is a modern children's device with which young chemistry enthusiasts will be able to learn a lot about the world around them, study the structure of substances and observe the course of various chemical reactions.

The classes at the School of Young Chemist are designed to deepen participants' knowledge of the basics of the subject, to fill in the gaps in practical skills and abilities.
