International ranking agency Times Higher Education (THE), considered to be one of the most accredited in the sphere of higher education, published the new ranking of the world universities THE University Impact Rankings. It evaluates the world universities’ activity by the level of widening the positive influence on the society, economy and environment. According to the ranking results Sumy State University enters the 300 world best universities among around 500 that passed THE audit and takes the first place among Ukrainian HEIs.

The university was evaluated first of all for its contribution to achievement of sustainable development goals designated by the UN for the period of humanity development till 2030. THE experts particularly evaluated the productivity of current projects the university performs in the sphere of popularization and improvement of health care, planning and support of the family, physical education and sport, assurance of comfortable working conditions, equality and non-discrimination, inclusiveness, development and implementation of “green” technology, participation in in local, regional and state governance etc.

All these aspects are the components of modern philosophy of corporate social responsibility that is a part of so-called “third mission” of the universities and is confined in universities’ active social status, harmonious coexistence, cooperation and constant dialogue with the society, participation in solving social and economic problems.
