On 4th-8th of November Sumy State University staff joined the events within the international information week of the EU Erasmus+ programme in Kyiv. It was held by National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine along with support of the European Union Delegation and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission.

Eventful programme of information week was dedicated to reviewal of all directions of the EU Erasmus+ programme, such as international credit mobility projects (KA1 direction), higher education potential development projects (KA2 direction), youth and sports directions, Jean Monnet projects.

Participants had the chance to familiarize themselves with opportunities and perspectives of the Erasmus+ programme, exchange the best practices of grantwriting and project implementation, listen to presentations and take part in trainings provided by foreign experts, NEO representatives in Ukraine, Erasmus+ National Agencies of Austria, Lithuania, Germany, Poland and others.

Leading Ukrainian HEIs were awarded in different areas of the Programme within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ international information week. Sumy State University was awarded in two nominations: Top-3 Universities of Ukraine in the category of projects “Development of Higher Education Potential”, and Top-3 Universities of Ukraine in the category of Projects “Implementation of Jean Monnet programme”. The selection criteria were the quantity of projects implemented, the quality of their implementation and consistency of results.

Erasmus+ coordinator of SumDU, Head of International Affairs Office Kostyantyn Kyrychenko mentioned, that the EU Erasmus+ programme is the most powerful tool in supporting international cooperation of higher education institutions. SumDU is an active and reliable partner of the programme annually implementing a significant number of projects aimed at improving the quality of university services, as well as the mobility of students and staff.

New competitions for all Erasmus+ programme directions for 2020 were announced during the event:

  • International Credit Mobility , deadline – February 05, 2020;
  • Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees, deadline – February 13, 2020;
  • Capacity Building in Higher Education, deadline – February 05, 2020;
  • Jean Monnet Activities, deadline – February 2020.
