In the beginning of September Polish city of Krynica-Zdrój hosted the 29th Economic Forum - the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. As a part of the collaboration between Sumy State University and the Institute for Eastern European Studies (Warsaw), co-organizer of the Economic Forum, ten SumDU students participated in the Forum as volunteers. This year Economic Forum has traditionally gathered over 4,500 participants - scientists, representatives of public organizations, government and business from Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East.

The forum participants took part in more than 200 thematic meetings, attended panel discussions, lectures, workshops; strengthened their English skills and learned to work as a team within three working days. In particular, the forum had discussions in the spheres of business and economy, energy, innovations development, European integration, international and social policy, security, investment, society and education etc. In addition, SumDU students joined the organization of the Running Festival of the Economic Forum - the international sport event. The purpose of the Festival is to promote people who, through their dedication and work, become role models for others.

We would like to remind you that the Coordinator of the Institute for Eastern European Studies, Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine (2005-2010) Jacek Kluczkowski invited SumDU students to the Forum. In March, he presented Institute's Fund scholarships to ten SumDU students.
