On June 5th-7th the scientists from Umea University (Sweden) visited Medical Institute of Sumy State University. The delegation was composed of: Professor Thomas Boren and Doctor Zhanna Buhaitsova from the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, and Professors Anders Berglund and Majid Ebrahimi. Guests conducted 6 lectures concerning peculiarities dental education and providing dental assistance in Sweden and issue of helicobacter pylori adaptation to different conditions.

The delegation visit included the round table discussion among representatives of Umea University and Medical Institute administration headed by its director Andrii Loboda. Participants discussed the following stages of cooperation within the Erasmus programme – this year project has been extended for three years that much more expands opportunities of cooperation between two universities. For the next two years 12 visits of Umea scientists with lectures and seminars are planned to be caried out on different dental issues that will increase the quality of MI SumDU students-dentists’ training.

Also, the meeting with the research group of M.D., Professor Maksym Pohorielov took place at the Center of Collective Use of Scientific Equipment. The scientists discussed perspectives of joint researches using metal nanoparticles in order to create new products for dentistry. 

According to the visit results the projects for international research grants for joint scientific research financing are planned to be submitted. Next time Umea partners are planning to visit Sumy State University within annual conference of Medical Institute “Biomedical Perspectives” in October 2019.
