A proper e-learning process is going on at SumDU during the quarantine. The mechanisms of communication between teachers and students - from messaging and social networks to using video communication tools and collective learning from leading world companies - are defined.

“The developed methodological model of online courses promotes a high level of interactivity of educational content, in particular for the wide use of virtual trainers and simulators. Our own technological solutions for optimization of interactive learning content have allowed creating more than 2000 virtual trainers and simulators on the basis of Java, JS, Flash, Unity3D, including the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies”, - the Director of Organizational and Methodical Center of e-learning technologies of SumDU Yurii Zuban said.

During quarantine, SumDU teachers actively apply modern remote technologies, for example, the designer of educational materials Lectur.ED, which allows creating interactive web pages, tests, forums and tasks for collaboration; the MiX learning platform, an online environment for all types of communication between students and teachers, allows you to monitor the success of each student and the discipline as a whole; the “OCW SumDU” open educational resource of educational materials and Electronic Personal Cabinet service, which is the center of access to the university's online resources and services, a mean of communication and obtaining university-wide information.

There are successful examples of mixed learning at the Medical Institute, in majors where distance education is not provided. According to Andrii Loboda, the Director of SumDU Medical Institute, national and foreign medical students stay in residencies, accommodations where they have access to the Internet, and study online for a quarantine period. He noted that the SumDU e-learning system in the quarantine conditions proved its effectiveness. Teachers and students have electronic personal cabinets through which, via mobile and other devices, the participants of the educational process communicate online, submit tasks and check them, etc.

SumDU students recorded videos explaining the features of education during the quarantine. Thus, a student Mykola Shubenko said that distance learning at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology is quite diverse: "students use different electronic resources, such as Google Class, and the Mix platform; some teachers offer courses on the Prometeus platform."

"It takes about four hours a day to study at home, we get assignments via email and in a closed group on Facebook. We communicate with teachers in Messenger, and in the Telegram chat, the group leader sends us materials on different disciplines. Some teachers conduct video lectures for us, and we, in turn, provide answers in a video format,”- a student Yelyzaveta Strelchenko says.

"It seems that now we have more tasks than when we just visited lessons, but apparently it should be this way. After all, we performed half of these tasks at the university. To me, the great advantage of distance learning is that you can get some sleep and study at any time,” – a student Vlada Krytska says.
