On November 13th the Third Chinese International Friendship Cities Conference was held in Shaoxing as part of the implementation of the current Agreement on the Establishment of Relations for friendly exchanges between the cities of Zhuji and Sumy.

In order to discuss the existing experience and prospects of cooperation with Chinese partners in education and research, the participants of the conference from SumDU were the Head of the International Affairs Department Kostiantyn Kyrychenko, Director of the International Education Department Mykola Bozhko, Rector’s Assistant for External Economic Relations Viacheslav Kuksenko and the Head of the Media Center Maryna Osiukhina.

The topic of the conference was the deepening of cooperation and joint use of development opportunities. The event was held online and brought together the participants from 20 cities in 14 countries, including the United States, Japan, Ukraine, and others.

During the conference, representatives of Sumy City Council, the city of Shaoxing, and other friendly cities jointly launched the “Shaoxing Initiative” online, which discusses the mutual efforts of cities to prevent and combat epidemics, promote economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation, development of cultural cooperation and construction of a stronger platform for cooperation between friendship cities.

SumDU expands cooperation with many countries around the world, as it considers the exchange of experience and joint international projects to be the key to productive development. As a result, the institution occupies high positions in national and international rankings and is of interest to the world scientific and educational community.
