On November 24^th, the seminar "Internal quality assurance of higher education: development of educational programs and their accreditation" was held on the base of Sumy State University in an online format.

Teachers, students, postgraduates, administrative staff of higher education institutions and research institutions of the central and north-western regions of Ukraine were invited to participate. In total, the seminar facilitated by the specialists of the SumDU Center of Computer Technologies had more than 800 participants registered, which is illustrative of the interest of the educational community in the topic of the event.

In the welcoming speech, Acting Rector of SumDU Professor Anatoliy Vasylyev highlighted the importance of ensuring the quality of education, development of study programs, and their evaluation through accreditation systems. He noted that the purpose of any educational institution is to provide quality training that will meet not only the rapidly changing nowadays demands but also the long-term needs of the labor market.

During the seminar, the experts of the EU Erasmus+ Programme presented a number of topical issues in the field of quality assurance and quality control in higher education.

Volodymyr Bakhrushyn, Professor of Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, the Member of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Expert of the EU Erasmus+ Programme, introduced the participants to new approaches to internal quality assurance in higher education. The construction and development of the syllabus was the subject of a report of Professor Iryna Zolotareva from the Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, a member of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. In particular, the speaker drew attention to the profiles of the study program, and the disciplines - curriculum, content, competencies and learning outcomes, methods, teaching technologies, assessment of student achievement.

Deputy Heads of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Andrii Butenko and Olena Yeremenko outlined the main steps of preparation for accreditation of study programs and methods of its implementation.

For several hours, experts and participants of the seminar shared their thoughts and experiences on the event topic.

The moderator of the meeting, Associate Professor of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Science of Ukraine, coordinator of the "National Erasmus+ Office" in Ukraine Zhanna Talanova noted the successful experience of SumDU in ensuring the quality of education, motivating employees for outstanding performance.

"Sumy State University is known as a leading institution of higher education, despite its regional location, which shows an example of how to demonstrate a strong leap in recent years, rapid dynamics in international rankings and is a model for other universities, including those in the capital city”, - Zhanna Talanova emphasized.
