On February 23-25, an online kick-off meeting of the project "OPTIMA: Open Practices, Transparency and Integrity for Modern Higher Education" of the EU Erasmus+ programme "Development of Higher Education Capacity" was held with the participation of representatives of the SumDU workgroup.

The rector Vasyl Karpusha, together with the Head of the International Affairs Department Kostiantyn Kyrychenko, and Artem Artiukhov, the Head of the Academic Integrity Promotion Group, represented SumDU and emphasized the role of the university in the project and shared their experience in implementing the principles of open science and academic integrity.

During the event, the presentations were made by European and Ukrainian project partners, as well as well-known scientists, who were invited to share their experience in open science, academic integrity, and their impact on the quality of education. In addition, during the 3-day event, the partners discussed key objectives and agreed on a priority action plan for the first year of the project.

It should be recalled that the main goal of the OPTIMA project is to attract the ideas and practices of open science to the domestic academic environment in order to increase the level of academic integrity and transparency. OPTIMA's priorities include working with relocated Ukrainian universities, as well as focusing on climate change and inclusiveness through the use of modern information technologies.

The project coordinator is Lviv Polytechnic National University. The consortium also includes Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University, Lutsk National Technical University, National Antarctic Scientific Center, and National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. In addition, the composition of international project partners from Austria, Poland, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands is powerful and diverse.
