Sumy State University has launched a global virtual professional development programme for scientists, implemented in cooperation with Washington State University.

The first virtual class took place on February 24th and gathered more than 200 participants from around the world (Ukraine, India, Poland, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Morocco, UK, USA, etc.).

From Sumy State University the project is coordinated by Hanna Shvindina, Doctor of Economics, the Head of Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management of Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management. The coordinator from Washington State University is Dr Dipra Jha, Associate Professor at Carson College of Business, Assistant Director of the School of Tourism Business Management.

As Hanna Shvindina mentioned, the programme will last until May 2021. Postgraduates, future Doctors of Philosophy, beginner researchers, teachers and university graduates interested in teaching or research careers are invited to participate in it.

According to Hanna Shvindina, the programme is truly unique and necessary for the professional development of young scientists, as it provides valuable information and expert support. "As a graduate student, I dreamed of such a programme and I am very pleased that it is finally being implemented,"- the programme coordinator said.

The purpose of the webinars is to exchange best research practices and learning strategies among the new generation of graduates and university professors to increase academic achievements and open opportunities for collaborative innovation.

The invited teachers of the programme are representatives of the world's top universities: Montpellier Business School (France), Washington State University (USA), London School of Economics (UK), Bahcesehir University (Turkey), University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA), University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USA), Purdue University (USA), as well as Sumy State University.

The virtual classes of the programme are held on Wednesdays and Fridays, according to the schedule, synchronously: Ukraine - 18:00 (UTC + 2), USA - 8:00 (PST), 11:00 (EST). Each session lasts about 1.5 hours, with extra time for questions to the speakers.
