On July 9, Sumy State University ran the online kick-off meeting with the Bath Spa University (Great Britain) within the new joint KA107 project of the EU Erasmus + programme.

The project presupposes the staff exchanges between the universities within the priority areas to share the best practices in international project management, human resource development technologies, energy efficiency and building the “green” university, creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and information security.

In a welcome speech to the British colleagues, the Rector of SumDU, Vasyl KARPUSHA, emphasized that the experience of British higher education is precious for us, as it is among those, which significantly affect the development of the European and World Higher Education Areas.

During the meeting, the representatives of partner universities shared a vision for future cooperation and practical implementation of the project in various areas.

“Cooperation between Sumy State University and Bath Spa University is not only the agreements or documents, but it is also an ecosystem of powerful joint European projects, a common ideology for the university development, strong friendship and great prospect” - noted the Head of the International Affairs Department of SumDU, Kostyantyn KYRYCHENKO.

During the meeting, the British colleagues were introduced the materials on the socio-economic, scientific, educational, and cultural potential of Ukraine, the Sumy region, and SumDU and got acquainted with the achievements and strategic goals of the University according to the established priority areas of cooperation.

For references. Bath Spa University (UK) has been a strategic partner of SumDU for over ten years. The cooperation between the higher education institutions began with the implementation of the joint project “ALIGN” of the EU Tempus program (2013-2017). It was followed by the joint implementation of the large-scale projects: “DESTIN”: Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity, and Professionalism. (2018-2021) and “ACCELERATE”: Accessible Immersive Learning for Art and Design (2021-2023).

Since 2018, the universities have started the implementation of KA107: ICM projects (international credit mobility projects) within the EU Erasmus + programme, aimed at the students and staff exchanges and sharing of modern knowledge and technologies. The new project is a continuation of this cooperation and will last until the end of 2023.
