The V Summit of the First Ladies and Gentlemen was held in Kyiv. The topic was “Education That Shapes the World”. For the first time, the summit lasted two days. The event brought together first ladies and gentlemen, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, Ukrainian and international education leaders.

During the summit, global issues in education that are crucial for achieving sustainable development goals were discussed. These issues concerned access to education, innovation in education, and role of education in promoting peace and humanitarian values.

Inna SHKOLNYK (first SumDU vice-rector) also took part in this powerful forum.

The key event topics were: education as a prerequisite for finding answers to global challenges; education as an instrument of soft power; ethics of using technology and innovation; importance of education in promoting peace and humanitarian values.

The Summit is an international annual initiative launched by Olena ZELENSKA (the First Lady of Ukraine) in 2021. The event brings together world leaders to address the most pressing global challenges.
