On October 22nd, the Congress Center of Sumy State University hosted a conference "From institutionalization to impact: the development of analytical centers in state universities of Ukraine."

The event was organized by Sumy State University, International Renaissance Foundation, in partnership with the Open Society Initiative for Europe, with the financial support of the Embassy of Swedish to Ukraine.

The purpose of the event is a joint search for opportunities for the development of analytical centers of state universities of Ukraine, as well as strengthening their impact on social development. Representatives of the analytical centers, foundations, and embassies took part in the conference.

During the event, participants discussed the impact of analytical centers of state universities, organizational and financial challenges for the development of analytical centers of state universities, prospects for strengthening trust in donors, successful practices of analytical work.

"Together we are moving the country towards European integration, we see Ukraine as a successful European state in which knowledge is valued above all and is a place for research. University analytical centers occupy the highest places of international and national rankings in world practice, as they combine a deep analytical tradition, constant search and research energy that arises in university teams", - said Inna PIDLUSKA, Deputy Executive Director of the International Renaissance Foundation.

Honorary Rector, the Head of the Academic Council of SumDU Anatoliy VASYLYEV noted that the analytical component of the institution was laid during the creation of the first strategy of its development, before the development of which the regulatory framework of European and world educational space and a list of indicators defining world-class university were monitored.

"Today our university is a large analytical center. No structural subdivision of SumDU can do without powerful multifaceted analytical activity", - Anatoliy VASYLYEV emphasized.

The Head of the Coordination Center for Humanitarian Policy of SumDU Nina SVITAILO thanked the university administration for the support provided to the center during all the years it exists, emphasizing that the university has a strong school of an analytical approach to planning and implementing certain strategies.

"SumDU is a bright example of a university that does not need to wait for a signal from above, it is at the forefront of the process and achieves a positive result. A path should be paved to SumDU by delegations who come and study the experience of what and how to implement”, - said Yehor STADNYI, Vice-President for Bachelor Programmes at the Kyiv School of Economics.
