On June 30, an agreement on long-term cooperation between Sumy State University and Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) was executed online.

The signatories were the heads of institutions: Vasyl KARPUSHA - from Sumy State University, and Eugenijus VALATKA - from KUT.

The solemn event was preceded by online meetings between representatives of various departments and faculties of the two universities, at which the areas for further cooperation were discussed. In general, the educational ties between SumDU and KUT have been going on for many years, but they became intensive in March 2022, based on contacts between scientists: Alla KRASULIA - from Sumy State University and Dainora MAUMEVICIENE - from KUT.

"We are deeply grateful to Lithuania and the entire Lithuanian people for supporting Ukraine in these difficult times that our state is going through, we appreciate your support for our students and employees. Our institutions have a lot in common: in the strategy, in the mission, in the areas of activity, therefore, the range of further cooperation is wide and has great prospects", Vasyl KARPUSHA emphasized, the rector of Sumy State University.

KUT rector Eugenijus VALATKA also expressed confidence in successful and effective joint work, satisfaction with the online meeting and hope that soon the heads of institutions will be able to meet in Kaunas or Sumy and discuss the issues of cooperation in personal communication.

The parties confirmed their intentions to deepen cooperation in the field of translation and linguistic studies, to implement joint educational and scientific projects in the fields of mechanical engineering, law, business, economics, management, chemical technologies, etc.
