On 27 October 2022, there was the International Forum on Virtual Teaching and Learning: Harnessing Hyflex and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) for Developing Global Citizens.

The event was organized by Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (the Philippines), Sumy State University (Ukraine) and Prince of Songkla University (Thailand).

Here, about 300 participants from 19 countries gathered virtually. The following topics were discussed:

“Mission and Framework of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)”. Speaker: Tom Hendrick FREIMUT (international affairs specialist, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand).

“Teaching Tools and Strategies for Efficient COIL Projects”. Speaker: Bagus Jati SANTOSO (associate professor, Department of Informatics, deputy head of academic development, Surabaya Technological Institute, Indonesia).

“The COIL Challenges and Advantages: History of Success”. Speaker: Alla KRASULIA (senior lecturer, vice dean for international relations, Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications, Sumy State University). She was invited to work as an associate professor at the Applied Linguistics Institute at Riga Technological University in Latvia.

SumDU acknowledges Dr. Fillmore J. MURILLO for arranging and co-realizing the project. He is the head of the International Affairs Center (Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges in Nabua, the Philippines).

Notes: The Cooperation Treaty between SumDU and Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges was signed on 28 April 2021.
