The Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science approved selection results for scientifical, scientifical-technical and infrastructural projects. They will be funded via the EU Horizon 2020 program.

Among all 40 projects, 4 units belong to SumDU:

  • “Institutional Development of the Center for Common Use of Material Research Equipment” (Anatolii CHORNOUS as supervisor, the Center for Common Use of Material Research Equipment);
  • “The Software Complex for Accurate Prediction of Solar Power Generation to Minimize the Green-Coal Paradox” (Denys KURBATOV as supervisor, the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies);
  • “The DNA Reparation Relevance in Pathogenesis and Immunogenicity of Lung Cancer” (Roman MOSKALENKO as supervisor, the Medical Institute);
  • “Biocompatibility and General Toxicity of Medical Nanomaterials” (Maxym POHORIELOV as supervisor, the Medical Institute).

Within the Horizon 2020 program, there were winners from many organizations: Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (5), Sumy State University (4), Physical Institute of Ukrainian National Science Academy (3), Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (2), Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (2). 1 project was supported for each other participants. SumDU managed to attract the largest research money – 16.55 million hryvnias.

Totally, 156 of 195 contest offers were submitted to further assessment. SumDU provided 19 project applications.
