SumDU participated at the University Resilience School. On 11-12 March 2023, it was held by the Kyiv School of Economics and supported by the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities.

The event comprised five thematic sections as “the world café” and three panel discussions. The SumDU representatives were:

  • Bohdan Boiko – vice rector for resource provision and infrastructure development;
  • Kostiantyn Kyrychenko – chief of the International Affairs Department;
  • Serhii Hudkov – head of the Center for Scientific, Technical and Economic Information;
  • Denys Kurbatov – chief of the SumDU Research Department;
  • Stanislav Meleichuk – head of the Center for Extramural, Distance and Evening Learning;
  • Nina Svitailo – chief of the Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Policy;
  • Iryna Tsehelnikova – head of the Group for General Organizational Provisions and International Cooperation Protocol.

They supervise the SumDU campus, distance learning, mental health, academic integrity, foreign partnerships. These topics were lively discussed to solve urgent university issues in Ukraine.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the full-scale war provoked new challenges. Now, you have to choose: less requirements or greater efforts for education quality.

Kostiantyn KYRYCHENKO regards IT and digitalization as important steps in the education upgrade (the Personal SumDU Account for electronic documents). International relations are also relevant.

“In terms of the war, we see an unprecedented help for Ukrainian institutions. Therefore, partnerships should be maximally developed”, – he stated.

Today, the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities includes six organizations: Kyiv School of Economics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Dnipro University of Technology, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, Sumy State University, Ukrainian Catholic University.
