On 10 May 2023, initiatives of the Ukrainian Academic Alliance of six leading universities were fixed via the Cooperation Memorandum. Among signees, there was Vasyl KARPUSHA on behalf of SumDU.

The Alliance aspires after interorganizational and interdisciplinary cooperation in education and research to develop Ukraine as a promising country.

In general, the Memorandum was signed by Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Dnipro Polytechnical University, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, Ukrainian Catholic University, Kyiv School of Economics and Sumy State University.
