In September, there will be start of a new project “ENLACED: Digitally-Enhanced Foreign Language Education for Active European Citizenship and Democratic Culture”. Project type: KA220-HED – Higher Education Cooperation Projects. It will be supported by Romanian Erasmus+ Agency.

The project will be implemented by a team of researchers from the Department of International Economic Relations together with the Department of Germanic Philology. Among cooperators, there will be researchers from Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

The project is dedicated to development of teaching and learning foreign languages as a means to promote active citizenship and democratic culture in higher education. As part of the project activities, methodological recommendations for the integrated development of language and civic competencies will be developed. The project also involves organization of international meetings and trainings. Participants from different countries will be able to share experiences and the best practices in integrating language competencies into the civic awareness development.

The project received the highest score among other KA220-HED applications. Its successful preparation was possible thanks to the above-mentioned SumDU departments. They regularly participated in European educational and scientific projects (including EU Erasmus+).
