On 23-26 September 2025, SumDU representatives visited Kielce University of Technology (Poland). During the visit, they discussed further areas of cooperation in engineering education. In particular, it concerned development of academic mobility programs for students and teachers, participation in joint scientific projects.

“Cooperation with Kielce University of Technology is very important for our university. We already have positive experience of academic exchanges and joint scientific events. Today, we see even more prospects for development of partnership. Ahead is participation in international projects that will strengthen our capabilities in engineering education and science,” – said Ivan KOZII (vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work).

During the visit, SumDU representatives took part in the 7th Grabchenko’s International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing Processes (InterPartner-2025). The conference program included not only plenary and sectional sessions, but also familiarization with the work of leading technology companies and research centers. It creates new opportunities for partnerships between universities and business.

Among the prospects discussed were not only internships abroad, but also involvement of engineering students in implementation of scientific projects commissioned by manufacturing enterprises. This approach has already been successfully tested at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Machine Tools and Instruments of SumDU with the company WAGO GmbH & Co. KG (Germany).

“Students have a unique opportunity to develop engineering creativity, perform non-standard tasks at the request of enterprises, master project management skills and effective communication with customers. Completed tasks can be counted as industrial practice or even become part of qualification work. At the same time, students have an opportunity to receive decent remuneration for their work,” – said professor Vitalii IVANOV (coordinator of cooperation with the German company).

The visit to the Kielce University of Technology was another step in strengthening partnership between universities for further international cooperation in development of high-quality engineering education and scientific research. The participation of Ivan KOZII was supported by the European Union within the House of Europe program. The participation of other participants from SumDU was partially supported by the International Association for Technological Development and Innovation.
