According to the head of the International Affairs Department, Sumy State University is an active participant in the EU Erasmus+ projects that have an impact at the national level.

In this research, the university was represented by the QUAERE project ("Education Quality Assurance System in Ukraine: Development Based on European Standards and Recommendations"), the results of which significantly supported the development of internal (at the level of HEI) and external (at the state level) ensuring the quality of higher education", - said Kostyantyn Kyrychenko.

The SumDU expert expressed hope that the strong results of the implementation of the EU Erasmus+ projects, which were presented to the European Commission during this research, will contribute to further support of the higher education sector of Ukraine by the European Union.

The European Commission is conducting a research on the impact of the EU Erasmus+ programme on developing the capacity of higher education in the EU partner countries, including Ukraine. The research is extremely important for the development of a new Programme for the next seven-year cycle (2021-2028). An important element of the research is the study of the previous experience of the Erasmus+ programme (2014-2020) and its impact on the reform of the higher education sector.

It is worth reminding, that Sumy State University implements about 50 projects of the EU Erasmus+ programme annually. These projects provide strong resource support for the development of higher education institutions and the system as a whole, modernization of management and quality of services to the European level, capacity building of research and teaching staff, improvement of material and technical base, support for academic mobility of students and scientists.
